about

John's professional music career began as an original member of the contemporary Christian music (CCM) band Glad. John & Kass first met when Kass's band Crosswind opened for Glad at a Philly area concert. For both, it was love at first listen, and soon the two began performing as a duo for private parties and civic organizations. John recorded two albums with Glad -- singing lead vocal on their first single, "All Things" -- and appeared as a vocalist and guitarist on two albums by DC-based CCM singer/songwriter Scott Wesley Brown. As a member of Glad, John appeared on television and radio, and toured most of the continental United States. Meanwhile, Kass performed with Crosswind throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

Post-Glad, John & Kass spent a year and a half doing session work in Nashville for such clients as Tree Publishing , The Music Mill and custom recording studios. After returning to the Philadelphia area, John worked in the medical device industry, while Kass gave singing lessons and worked as a music director and recording session singer (Kass lent her vocal talents to several commercials and radio spots, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Merv Griffin's Resorts, Amoroso's Rolls, New Jersey Lottery, Thunder 102, and Friendly's Restaurants). John & Kass continued to perform on a part-time basis, for restaurants, private parties, weddings, civic organizations, and community events at such major northeast venues as the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Franklin Institute, Union League, the Downtown Club, Trump Castle, Caesars, Resorts, Guest Quarters, Liberty Park, and the Camden Waterfront, where Kass sang in opening acts for James Taylor and Elton John. John owns and operates a project recording studio, Allegra Recording Company, where he has recorded several projects for local artists and jingles for such business clients as BikeLine.
